Why Is Asperger’s Syndrome Looked Upon As A Disability?

I have asperger’s syndrome, and I would rather have it then be an NT. So why do NTs get to label me disabled, when I find them to be more impaired by their obsession with social nonsense then me to be by my lack of caring about social nonsense?
